JUNE & JULY 2010

COMMANDER NEWS: For June: As this will be my last news letter as Commander, I would like all to know, that thanks to all of the members of this Post, that we made All State Post again this year. As your Commander for the past four years, I can only say that it has been a pleasure, to you and this Post. A very special thanks to the Ladies and Men's Auxiliaries for all you have done, and I can only hope that you will continue to do so. A Commander is only as good as his members and 3494 has the best. Dave will be taking over the 28th of June and I know that you will do as well for him as you did for me. And as always OOH-RAH-SEMPER A-AND -GETR-Done, from the last time Commander, Chuck Sloan

COMMANDER NEWS: For July: I would like to thank all those who elected me as your Commander, for having faith in me, to carry on the legacy of this post, as it has been done for the past 74 years. I served as Commander of this Post 25 years ago, but things have changed a whole lot since then, so I will be needing a lot of help from you, my Comrades, Sisters and Brothers. As always when someone new takes the reins, you will find some changes, some may be good, some may be not so good, but together we will work it out. If anyone has a problem that relates to the post, don't hesitate to talk to me as I will be available for you. Commander, Dave Byerly

QUARTERMASTER NEWS: If you know anyone that may be eligible to join the VFW, check with them and have them stop in, they may be interested joining. Keep in mind we pay the first year dues for regular new eligible members and also pay the dues of anyone that is on active duty. My condolences go out to the families of our members who have recently passed away.

Any suggestions for this summer to help keep people coming in, please let us know. After all it's our POST so keep up the good work with working with everyone. Again thanks to all. God Bless.

We still would like to have the members to form a committee for the picnic. As you know July 1st Dave Byerly will be our new commander. I hope that our members will continue to support our Post.
